Hello,
What’s new?
On the new front here, I did my first sea swim of the year…..

The Atlantic. Brrrrrrrrrrrr. But so worth it!
And then I did my second.
Which means that I’m into the sea-swimming swing of things! (Say that out loud for a tongue twister, on me—you’re welcome!)
QUEST-ions
This month’s QUESTion….(and if you have one too, do send it my way).
You’re always doing interesting things. It seems like you’ve had an interesting life?
Well, this is a fun statement-questiony kind of vibe.
I can promise you that on a weekly basis there is mucho-mundanity, and things that just-need-to-be-done. For example, last week I spent an unholy amount of hours changing accountants. One switch. Snowball of admin.
BUT, on the Saturday, I’d set aside time for my weekly Quest. And that was interesting. I picked a Highwayman themed pub. I mean…!

A table made from gigantic bellows

A spooky ship of a restaurant. Highseaman?
There was so much to write about. (I write 3 pages: 2 of description, and one with a point-of-view switch. It’s unfailingly interesting and fun.)
In my highlights and learnings at the quarter way Quest mark, I recommended, ‘Always stop what you’re doing to love a dog!’
Based on this most recent place (place 43), I’d add, ‘Always stop what you’re doing to listen to a treasure-find of a human!’ In this case it was a palliative care nurse, on her first weekend off in years. She was brimming with delight, eager to chat, and a fascinating human.
Life is interesting, for sure. And a Quest helps me see it.
Questful Quotes
‘‘Pay attention to where you are going because without meaning you might get nowhere.’
― A.A. Milne
‘With meaning, you’ll always get somewhere interesting.’
―Danielle (aka me)
(And sometimes that somewhere is a treasure trove of a pub!)
Sneak peek:
I have a decade’s experience as a Speaker Coach and recently made my first app, based on one of my most popular resources for speakers. It’s a deck you can flip through to help you make a Lightning Talk (super short talks of 5 mins or less).
What’s been fun in the testing is that people started using it unexpected ways—to write blog posts, encourage family story swaps, and get to know their colleagues better. So fun
I’ll be putting it in the app store by the end of June. But in the meantime, if you like the idea of doing a Quest inspired by these prompts… I’ll be running a super fun LIGHTNING QUEST for 6 weeks in June-July. You’ll get…
⚡The deck of 50 Fun Structures for your phone
⚡A Quest design session with me. We’ll use the deck. You might choose to focus on speaking, writing, storytelling, or sparking conversations
⚡3× Questful calls (30 mins each) to keep things fun and practical, and make sure you don’t veer off into a swamp
⚡Celebratory session. All good Quests must come to an end (for now). We’ll look back on what you’ve explored and learned
The total cost will be $600 USD or £500 GBP

Let’s Quest!
Last words (for now):
This is your permission slip to go and do something that interests you.
Today.
Or tomorrow.
Certainly by Monday.
Deal?
Yaaaaas!
Life can be short. I mean, look at this picture. I think I was metres away from being snatched by aliens? Or struck down by the sun?

I have no idea how I took this picture? I think I was on a train?
Until next time,
